Moharram Fouad | Walnabi Linakid al Azal (El Masseyah, 1971)

A terrifically unusual track composed by Mohamed El-Mougi and sung by popular Egyptian actor-singer Moharram Fouad, "Walnabi Linakid al Azal" does not sound quite like anything we've ever heard before, especially the ending.

Published by the Egyptian label El Masseyah in 1971, this not-quite 10-minute-long ramble features delightfully buzzing woodwinds that have a very Laxmikant-Pyarelal feel to them.

We took the liberty of splicing together Sides A and B into a (hopefully) seamless single track; and, because there was quite a bit more surface noise on the left-hand channel than the right, we only took audio from the right-hand channel-side of the grooves. (The original is in mono.)

And, again, you're going to want to stick around for the ending.
