Khadra Bekhati | Al'asrar b/w Alasbue (Sono Cairo, 1971)

Discogs lists three singles for Egyptian folkore singer Khadra Bekhati; we recently lucked into a copy of this 1971 banger and, upon first listen, decided we had to share it with you.

Khadra Bekhati is something of a mystery. Little exists online that we could find; however, this page seems to equate her with "actress Khadra Muhammad Khadr," who was married to folklore preservationist Zakaria al-Hagawi. 

It is possible, we realize, that the Khadra featured in this recording we shared earlier is Bekhati and Muhammad Khadr, and that they are all one in the same, mystery solved.

Is life ever that simple? Tell you what, though: These two tracks, the roughness of our copy aside, are killer.
