Fatma Eid | Abligh Morady (Morophon, 1972)

Another seemingly impossibly rare single, this time from popular Egyptian folklore singer Fatma Eid. Discogs lists four LPs, two singles, and one cassette for Eid; however, Albigh Morady is not among them.

Born in Ash Sharqia Governorate, north of Cairo, Eid began singing as a child for other locals but became a big enough success as an adult to have toured Tunisia, Morocco, Syria, Austria, Germany, and the United States.

These two very short tracks provide an invigorating listen and a window into the early to mid-1970s when Eid was at her peak.
