Ibrahim Hamouda | Ealaa Kayfik (Sono Cairo, 1966)
Today's offering is another impossibly rare single: A track by Alexandrian composer Hussein Guneid recorded by Egyptian actor and religious chantor Ibrahim Hamouda.
Discogs only lists this one 45 RMP single by Hamouda in addition to the A Side of a shellac 78 RPM, the B Side of which features none other than Oum Kalthoum.
1966, the year of this release, was an especially prolific, generative year for Egyptian singles; a fact we tried to make manifest in this special episode of Bodega Pop on WFMU's Give the Drummer Radio, where we played this very single.
